Guyz I know how busy you people are. I wont mind even If you ignore this.

It has taken me exactly two months to tell this person, that I have cleared GATE. This mam is someone special because She is also “GATE qualified”.

She was the only staff in my UG career whom I have made cry(Of course, there are many in my school).

I still feel Sorry, that,  I have made her cry one day inside the staff room(luckily no other staffs were there on that day). That day I came to know that she is GATE qualified

I would have never known about GATE if I had not seen her. Yes, she was the first GATE qualified person I have ever met in my life time.

She never took class on any CS subject for me. She took only Ethics. Though she took only ethics, her teaching shows often that she is GATE qualified. I dont know how many of my friends noticed this !

The Two GATE qualified candidates had their chat like this:

Pal : Mam, Do you remember me, I am your student from CSE

Mam : Gopal ?

Pal : Exactly mam ! I have qualified in GATE, with my percentile score and AIR (I feel really bored to tell my score and AIR, and I think you will also be in the same state to hear these things over and over again )

Mam : gr8

Pal : Some of your colleagues also wrote with me, but they dint qualify (Tons of weight on my head)

Mam : Was the exam Descriptive or Objective ?

Pal : The exam was fully Objective ! (I am damn sure that she should have written the descriptive type of exam, but for the past 3 years, the exam is completely objective)

Pal : Which college would I get ?

Mam : Apply for Anna university, You can also apply for IIT !

Pal :These marks are not final mam, anyway I am going to write next year also, I hope I would do better than this

Mam: All the best for that ! I need to leave now, I will ping you when I return

All “you”s used in this post describes my close friend Mr.Dadiwala (in above picture)

You Mr. DadiWalla, now answer my question. You are the only one who said like this.

First of all I want to tell you all about My relationship with DadiWalla(also called thiruvalluvar).

When I was in my School I never used to read this fellow’s Scribble book(also called thirukkural). But when I finished my schooling, I started to read this book like anything. I think “If I am somewhat Successful today” then it is only because of reading this book. I have read several books on how to become successful in life, but I like only this book. This fellow has written everything from Love to Friendship, Leadership, Discipline, Teaching skills, and most important “Basic qualities for a Human”.

Now its time for me to put forth some questions against Dadiwalla.

If I say I have scratched my head with this single scribble of him for more than 8 years, none of you would believe me. Yes, I have been scratching my head only with this scribble.

The scribble that wasted all my thoughts (Even during some of my exams) is here:

For those who dont know tamil, here is the explanation

“If some one does bad to/for you, the best reply that you could give him is To Do good to/for him. This really causes a great pain to the one who did bad for you”

Note: This English meaning can never equalize that fellow’s Scribble, nor I am good translator. You could taste this fruit Only if you know Tamil. Read this again if you know Tamil.

How could this be practically possible ? You answer me idiot. I know Friederich Kekule, inventor of Benzene Ring, got the answer to one of his myth, in his dream. And this only led him to invent to great Benzene ring. So I want you Mr.DadiWalla to answer me atleast in my dream.

I think I could be the only fan of you who has qualified the GATE exam. You should be very proud that you have got a great fan like me.

My community Certificate says that my mother tongue is Telugu. I feel happy only when I talk in Tamil.

Finally, my site WeJoinHere has got PR-1

Still my holidays are about to come, who knows it can touch the peak even before my expectation.

The supreme court has upheld the 27% reservation quota for admission to IITs and IIMs. Its a great news for me and BC’s like me. I expect there should be new ranking solely for BC’s to be released in not more than a couple of weeks. I am waiting for the second time for GATE results. The hunger never ends.

Let’s see what happens !

Started the day with Gomsan came with 2 huge Laddoos (which he had bought from his native ) on my mouth and violently closing my mouth with his hand. He asked others not to leave me to spit them on the floor. The Ist hour was maths.

I told Nameli Mam that I have passed GATE exam.

Nameli mam : I am happy that, you have chosen to do your further education. All the best for your future.

All the Boys wished separately. And they also gave me a Doll. They never know that My hands hardly keep any dolls working for a while. I think the lifetime of that Gift (doll) after it reached my hands was only 8 hours. I broke it at the evening itself. Sorry Guys !

Gave a treat to boys at the canteen. Unusually distributed chocolates to everyone in the class (including girls).

Shock for my beloved sister (Yamuna) 

I pulled her hand and dragged her from Ist lab, and I asked her to read what is there in the notice board. First she thought that her name was on board, and asked me if there was any problem inside the department. I asked her to read that completely, and she was completely shocked after seeing that.

“GATE status… Qualified… Percent 95.68…. Gopalakrishnan…. “

She said these things like a bullet:

“Are you so brainy ?“

 - I do think so !

“Did you prepare for this exam without telling anyone ?“

 - No, There wont be anyone in my class, without knowing that I have prepared for the GATE entrance exam.

No more questions, only advices here onwards.

“Dont write GRE !“

“Dont go anywhere from India“

“IIT is heaven“

(In the mean time, Logu sir called me to attend the class)

“Dont respect anyone. Dont attend classes. You have cleared GATE. You are not supposed to be attending classes like normal guys do.“

“You are not at all supposed to be here. How come you came to this college ?“

“This college is a ****. “

And her final words to me was:

“I dont know, and I dont want to know anything. You have to somehow get a rank and get a seat in IIT madras. I would be there for another 6 years. My dad is working as an MBA professor in IIT madras. I want you to come there ! Got It ?”

I got the message, Akka !

I don’t and I never celebrate my birthday with grand style. Even in ordinary days, I used to get blessing from my mom. But today even My mom was not here. She returned from Hyderabad, only at evening 7. Many may have wished me, but My mom wished me only at 7 PM. That was the only thing for which I worried on my birthday !

 Surendar: Its really tough to get through this exam (Advanced Java Prog IInd monthly)

Me         :  Everything will all be over by today !

Surendar: You are not telling me something. You are hiding me something. Tell, what is                          that you are hiding from me ?

Me         : Nothing

Time : 10:10 Venue: Ist lab

(Myself, Ravi, and Gomsan)

Gomsan : Type fast, do you remember your register no. ?

Me         : I think I do, but no site is opening, Let’s come later.

(In the mean time, IInd years came and they had some lab, so we couldn’t see the results at that time)

Time : 11:30 Venue: Inside our class !

 I whispered in Gomsan’s ears “After this hour, We will move onto the Library, and We will be there itself until the results are released !”

He said OK.

I asked Ravi, not to come with me, and He always understands me if I am in critical situation. He Wished me “All the Best” by showing Thumbs Up sign.

We both shouted madly, Yes I have passed GATE exam ! ! !

Informed my mom and dad. And bought 5 star chocolates for 200 Rs. and then came back to department.

Gopal: Mam/Sir I have passed GATE exam with 95.68 % and an All India Rank 765

Let’s watch everyone’s reactions :

First one was HOD:

HOD : Really, its great,(Shook hands with me) When did you write that ?

Me    :  I wrote along with Alamelu Madam.

Veena Mam: Congrats Pa (Typical Veena mam Dialogue !)

Balaji Sir     :  Great, man. Keep it up !

Went to class, Vishnu was about to clap. But the whole class dint see any reaction on my face(which was un-usual) . But Gomsan shouted on everyone to clap for me. Only a fraction understood why they should clap for me. It had still remained comedy for them.

Went to IInd Lab, told Sathish and Surendar. At first, they dint understand anything. Then I was telling one by one on How I wrote and cleared that GATE exam. Then they came to know that I was not joking all these days but I was Challenging them.

Let’s come back to others reactions:

Chariman: Congratulations ! You(to the worker nearby) wont get an IIT seat even if you get 101 out of 100. But this fellow has done that. Congrats again ! Have this chocolate with you (to the same worker)

Principal: What is your percentage ?

Me         : 95.68

Principal: Will you get IIT seat for this percent ?

Me         : I think I can get atleast an MS seat in IIT sir. But I am not sure.

Principal : Atleast will you get a seat in Anna university.

Me          : Even if I get a seat there, I wont go there, I don’t like that college.

MBA HOD : Congrats and All the best ! Where did you go for coaching ?

Me               : I got the materials from Brilliant Tutorials mam !

MBA HOD  : Congrats man, All the best for your future !

Rejini Mam : GATE exam ±øÄ¡õ Pass ÀñÈ, Why not you pass my exam ?

Me            : This is different and that is different Mam.

Sarala Mam : I need the notes.

Me                : OK mam I will give.

One of my unforgettable days in my life. Yes, myself and Gomsan saw the results in Library and we shouted like anything. Its a great thing. Given chocolates to chairman, principal, and all the staffs of my department. Here is the damage :
GATE score: 431
Percentile: 95.68
All India Rank: 765 (fancy Number isn’t it !)
I dont think I would land in IIT. But in some nice college. Of course, I have achieved what I planned. Two staffs are still not saying anything about “Their” results. They think they wont pass this exam. Are they afraid of me ? Let us see on Monday. They cant escape from me ! ! !

It is always difficult to understand the real time applications, when we are completely drenched with theory. The same thing happened for me here. Myself and Ravi are preparing to get a nice topic, but nothing has been confirmed, but we hope we would get a nice topic before today evening. Hard day to go. I always like thrills and fun.
I hope by the end of evening we would be having a nice content. Thanks to ravi for co-operating with me. There are not much friends like that who understand you completely and sacrofoce things for you. I am happy that I have got such a friend.

Yes, sometimes you never know what happens the next moment. Today morning Imam asked me whether I would dance, I thought he was asking for some other reason, but today during lunch period, he said that I am dancing for the college Team. Its always a great thing to represent the college in some way or the other. Of course, I dint get a permanent place in the team. But I am sure that I would book my berth in a couple of days.
