That was when the whole class was playing Grand Master in System Software hour with Rose Mam as referee. That was the day when I came to know that he was badly struck in his hand and he always used to cover that with Full Hand Shirts or T-Shirts. Severely injured guy !

With his permission I am writing this post !

Coming back to the gift matter, He actually tipped me a 25 Paise coin. It was me who is making this a big issue. I strongly believe that huge things have very simple Background. I consider this 25 paise as the “Appreciation” for my thought and act.

Wait and Watch !

My name is Gopal, I have another name too, and That’s Raja.

If you come near my residence and ask where gopal resides, many may find that difficult to tell. But when you ask Where Raja is, anyone taller than 1 feet, will (should) guide you to my home. I like both my names very much (Gopalakrishnan named by my Mom, Raja named by my Brother). But this post is completely dedicated to the one, who named me “Raja”, my Brother, Vishnuram.

He is elder than me Only in Age. There cant be two children in any house without fighting, and my home was is no way exception for that. Whatever be the situation we never bother and concentrate only on Fighting. Now my Brother had departed to UK for his PG.

My brother is calm, quiet and somewhat reserved. Though he is 4 years elder to me, I have never showed him that difference, neither did he. We both are much similar in many things, except in our characters.  He has always silenced critics on him. Both of us has touched both ends of our life. There had been times, when He was badly defeated, and there had been times when he was rocking the Whole CEG.

It really makes my eyes moist, when I think on how I could spend this one year without my Brother. I still feel the pain of this Sudden Loneliness. Both my parents and me had cried at the Airport. Here goes my message for him:

Just now saw the post in Avenger’s Blog and thought I should post something on that.

Sorry guys, I am not satisfied with your “Error-Free” work. I think I should be the first and the only person to publicly declare like this because I dont know to hide things. I want you people to reply to this.

Errors and Lamp Holding

Dont say that you made an Error. Error is something which is done un-intentionally. And everyone is prone to do some Errors like that. But I am here to say that you people have done something more than just “Erroring”

First try to know the difference between an Error and “Lamp holding”. Let me tell everyone one thing: In my article, I have intentionally kept some statements(Actually 3) like this:

“The important thing which our teachers fail to notice is that…” and some Statements which are against our Teachers.

The thing which made me annoy was that none of that 3 statements were published. I think those statements were removed Intentionally. You people should really feel bad for this. I dont know why you people still hold “Lamps” to teachers like this. I believe this cant be said as “Error”.

I never found anything other than TAGS, TWIGS and SIM. Great way to advertise your stuffs. Even I asked for one, but you forgot that.

The first thing I was asked from Joel was “How many times your name appeared on the Newsletter ?”, Rather than concentrating on How many times your name appears on Newsletter, you should have concentrated on giving some more quality.

A company gets started only when it is “Registered”. You can state that as a Company (and give name) only when it is registered. If that were a company then I have a Dozen of Companies along with Sat and SambaSu. I am pretty sure that “Our Company” had earned more than that “Company”.  Publishing such news exposes your Immaturity and childish behaviour. These things may look nice for you, but will look childish for business people like Me, Sat, SambaSu and many others. (For your additional Information:Our college ECE guys have a company which is a registered one).

“What Students expect from Teachers” could have been renamed by “What SIM expects from Teachers”

The ultimate thing which made me arouse is when you failed to publish Lakshmikant’s Article. This really made me dejected (and so for him). I always expect and help those, who are in the “Downtrodden level”, to rise up (Even I am one like that). Please dont tell me that you lacked space. You people would have published that if someone else had written that article. I am sure that he (Lakshmikant) has got some great knowledge on Hardware and related stuffs. This Newsletter should be unlucky to miss his article (and also from many others).

Infosys need not be given that much importance. Its one of the several companies that we Attempt (or gonna attempt).

You might have thought that the readers would think in a “SIM” way, which many of us cannot (and wont). I think that is where you (might have) went wrong. Kindly, remove that (mis)conception (atleast now).

Article on Mother Terasa was Excellent. Hats off to her. Last page Be Indian and Buy Indian was also nice. And a poem was also nice.

This time everything was pre-planned, and even the Victim was aware that this version was completely for him. Thanks to all the techniques I learnt for “Self-survival”. I am gradually becoming a Qomputer Science Engineer. Everyone in my class is scared of me. Here is my message for that private Group:

“When something has to be public, it has to be. I wouldn’t have interfered if that was a private meeting (even I know you people are going for one). That mail was sent to you with the intention of forwarding to everyone. It should be informed to all others. It is not a crime if you fail to inform everyone. But it is certainly a big crime (atleast in Pal’s Dictionary) if you inform only ’some’. Even if it is a simple C program Hari used to inform everyone. And That’s why he is “Hariharan”, and you are simple *********. This clearly shows that you cant be Hariharan by any chance.”

I repeat “When something has to be public, It has to be public. It cant go Private at any cost”

It wakes me up. I am still growing stronger and feeling alive. Only when you feel the pain, you will realize that you are alive. I was given PR-3 for no reason. And my PR dropped for no reason. Now I will investigate this matter, and get to know many more things.

Anyhow Google is making me learn many new things and become a successful Webmaster.

I am sure that I would become “the Most successful Webmaster” in No time.

One new staff came to my class and she was giving us tips on how to crack an interview. I tell you she is in her last days. She should be counting her days. Actually it was 12:50 and the bell has just gone. I stood up and about to go for lunch(I was in a hurry because it was already 50 minutes late for me). As I was sitting at last I couldn’t come out and find my way, because the guys sitting next to me never moved. I was the only person standing and she saw me. I had no other choice other than sitting. She came near me and she scolded me like this. These things are usual earlier but it is becoming a great joke nowadays. Here it goes:

“Why did you stand in the middle of the class. I never expected this from you. I am very much unhappy with your behaviour. Behaviour is the important thing for a final year student. Do you know Why only some are getting selected and others are not selected ?”

“I dont know mam !”

“It is only because of their behaviour. If you behave like this-You will never get selected in any company !”

After a relatively long pause, I said

“I am placed already mam !”

Nowords from her ! The whole class were giggling after this. Now comes the conclusion.

I dont know why these people link completely different things.

What is the link between Studying, behaving and getting a job ?

Do you find anything common between these things ?

And coming back to my Title, its time to play the game. I have been waiting for this results for more than 45 days and I accept that this time Luck favoured me to a greater extent. Not all the times it favours you. I wont give this type of Performance anymore in the upcoming semesters(Of course, only two to go).

This results gave me a clear idea and never gave me any burden. 36 or 37 and 14 Marks in Internals that’s all I need.

Why I took Infy ?

Atleast a dozen of my friends (Including a girl) told me “We were expecting you to get placed in I-Flex very easily, but you failed to do that”

I strongly believe in two things 1.Talent 2.HardWork

There cant be a single person in this world, who could succeed without hard work. I am no way an exception for that. I never prepared for that I-Flex and that’s why I dint get placed.

Right from my childhood, I use to experiment many things on myself. This time it was for Infy. I learnt two things from I-Flex : My analytical reasoning skills were Ok and I need to concentrate more on Verbal. So, I decided not to touch my RS Agarwal book for the whole process. I gave my book to Jegan so that He could read and I started reading my V std English Grammar book !

And ultimately that paid Off !

Immedately after seeing my paper, I thought Ravi should clear this paper very much with ease. And I never thought I would clear Aps so easily, but once I cleared that, I knew I should walk through the interview.

Before interview I had only 2 things in mind,

• I should expose that I am state 8th rank in chess (that’s the only point I had with me)
• I should never expose that I am a GATE qualified candidate

And luckily I did both these things. comfortably.

With my Own Slang “Excuse Mam”, I Entered the room.

It was a lady HR wearing Chudi with “no Make-up”.

She: So, How do you feel Gopalakrishnan ?

Me : Yes Mam Fine !

She : You have got a very big list in Co-Curricular Activities, Talk something about that. Other than academics

She never knows that I am poor in Academics. I started all over from my VI std and ended up till my IIIyr of Engineering stating all the National level Competitions that I have won, Maths Olympiads, Culturals and of course My state rank in Chess. And this took me around 4 minutes.

Me: Mam ! Should I add anything more ?

She: Yes ! Of Course Gopalakrishnan (Smiling !)

I thought She was making fun out of me, And I again told the same things with a Smile !

She: So, Gopalakrishnan why do you go and participate and win all the Competitions ?

Me : I dont go and win all the competitions that I participate. My life is completely composed of 3 things Adventure, Thrills, Humour. I am basically a humorous person. (She laughs). More than 90% of my participations end up with great failure. But in that 10% that I win, I stand Distinctly Ahead of others, which Others have never ever dreamt of. And that’s how I won many great things in my life.

She was completely convinced with this answer.

She: What is your favourite subject Gopalakrishnan ?

Me: Thoery of Computation (I know many would have difficulty in studying this subject)

She: Why ? Any specific reason ?

Me: A computer’s most basic things are discussed here mam !

She: Any other subject ?

Me: Data Structures (Gave her a chance, to make me tongue tied, but she never utilized that)

She: If you fail in 90% of events that you participate, then Why do you go and attend all those ?

Me: If I am successful today, then It is because of my failures. My failures have shown me the best path. Pain is my teacher. More than everything I gain a lot of experience which I can share with guys like me who are unsuccessful.

She: Are there anyone, who have become successful with your guidance ?

Me: I take immense care when I guide someone. I have made many of those whom I guide into a successful person.

She: Ok Gopalakrishnan ! All the Best ! ! !

Some 2 and half hours later, they came and announced the results. And My name was there along with Ravi’s name.

What went wrong for others ?

Most of the Big guns in my class have flunked in the Aps round itself. The whole Department was expecting a lot from them. This should really hurt them. “They have let their Department Down ! ”

“Everyone is equal before Law ! ”

You may have 83% aggregate, You may have excellent communication skills, you may be very good in Programming, You may speak a hifi English, You may be having a Distinction Degree, but your “Problem Solving Skills” only matters in these type of Examinations.

It is not that, you prepare well go and write your exams and get 80-82 % percent come back and again be an “Academic Punk”, with no use to anyone.

Luck favours only the Brave !

Everyone of us, did our interview well, but luck favoured only 8 of us. And fortunately or unfortunately I was one of that Eight from my class.

So, the moral of the story is:

“Infy has selected Gopal as their Employee, but Gopal has not yet selected Infy as his WorkPlace !”

“This is a bad news for all the qualified students(except me) . . . “

This really created a chaos inside the class. Of course I cant see everyone’s face right now, I can judge things are abnormal. All my friends say that they are greatly disturbed by my “except me” statement. I think they were so Vetti having no other work to do !

Moreover Joel has sent SMS to everyone starting with “This news is for everyone (except gopal)…..”

I really feel happy that I have got an “Exception” from others like that.

When I go to dance my friends shout “Eh ! Gopal dance aadranda !”

When I go to play Kabadi, my friends shout “Eh ! Paarra ! Gopal kabadi aadranda !”

When I go and play Football, they shout “Eh ! Anga Paarra ! Gopal football aadranda !”

They never do anything and never let others to do. Criticisms are part and parcel of everyone’s life. Whatever I do, it seem to be funny for others. I have become more of a “Funny person” to everyone. I am never going to take these things seriously because, I know If I do something different, I am sure to face problems. Problems are the ones which are making me more and more powerful !

My life’s like “Problems Problems everywhere, not even a single one unsolved !”

I get a lot of experience, Courage and Confidence when I get into some trouble. I am sure that I am always ahead of others in these qualities (Courage and confidence). When there is no problem around me, I create problems myself and somehow successfully get into that.

Many of my friends really seem to be happy when I get into trouble. I am happy that my friends like me “Getting into trouble”. After all they make me more Courageous and more Confident.
